Nik Collection users rejoice: DxO has announced that they’re acquiring the Nik Collection assets from Google. The current version is available for free on DxO’s website. But they plan to go on with the development, and there will be “Nik Collection 2018 Edition” released mid-2018. Jérôme Ménière, CEO and founder of DxO, says they’ll continue to revolutionize the image processing market with Nick’s tools. The new version of their flagship software DxO OpticsPro (as of now available under the new name DxO PhotoLab) is the first embodiment of this acquisition....

As you may know, Instagram is testing hiding like counts in seven countries. But according to recent reports, Facebook may soon follow. Reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong discovered the prototype of hidden like counts in Facebook Android app. Just like Instagram’s tested feature, it shows a few people who liked your post but hides the total number of likes. Wong posted a few screenshots on her Twitter, revealing what the feature will look like....

Fuji’s new GFX 100 is here, and it’s a big looking beast of a camera. It’s a 102-megapixel camera with a 43.8 x 32.9mm BSI CMOS sensor. We don’t know if it’s the Sony IMX461, but if it is, it should show some excellent high ISO performance and increased colour accuracy. Coming to you from the guys at COOPH, here are two ways to make and shoot with a pinhole camera. The first is analogue. Yes, that’s right, it uses 35mm film, the construction is as cheap and simple as it gets. All you need is a matchbox, a fresh roll of film, an empty film spool, an empty drinks can, some thin card and a whole mess of electrical tape. The second method is for interchangeable lens cameras and can work for either 35mm SLRs or DSLRs (or mirrorless cameras) and essentially just converts your standard camera body cap into a pinhole lens for your camera....
