I was shooting a family formal portrait after a wedding ceremony at a church in Arcadia, California. My backpack was placed 3 rows from the front of the pew, to the side, along with my assistant’s camera bag. An outsider came into the church and then knocked over a flower vase that was filled with water. Everyone, including the bride and groom, myself and my assistant watched the commotion after hearing glass shatter....

MIOPS has today announced the new Capsule Pro motorised pan and tilt head for shooting timelapse and motion control video. Released four years after the MIOPS Capsule360, I’m not entirely sure what makes this different/better than its predecessor, except for the increased load capacity and it looks like some highlight features from the Capsule360 (such as subject tracking) aren’t even mentioned with the new Capsule Pro. Like most of the other MIOPS gear releases, the MIOPS Capsule Pro is being launched through Kickstarter with pledges currently starting at $299....

If you’re a Nikon shooter based in the USA or Canada and your gear goes down over the next few weeks, you’re going to have a wait on your hands to get it back up and running – not that most of us will have jobs to go shoot anyway. Nikon USA has announced that it has closed down its camera repair service and are currently not accepting equipment. This follows an announcement a few days ago that Nikon Canada had also suspended their repair service as well as Nikon Pro Services (NPS) loaners....

Panasonic’s announcement from CES today talks about the upcoming Lumix S1 and S1R cameras announced at Photokina. On initial announcement, not a lot of information was released. We know that the S1 will house a 24-megapixel full frame sensor, and the S1R will be 47-megapixels. We also know that they would both utilise Leica’s L mount. But beyond that, there’s still not a lot out there. But now Panasonic has released information two of the features that will be coming to the Lumix S series cameras....
