After all, they usually get spooked pretty easily. I have a camera set up in the backyard for that very purpose. We often get foxes, deer and badgers entering the garden during the night. But what wildlife photographer Levi Dojczman has done, however, is take it to the extreme....

Being catcalled is very uncomfortable and women often don’t know how to face the men who do it. But a young student from Amsterdam, Noa Jansma, found a way to deal with them. For a month, she was taking selfies with men who catcalled her and shared the photos on her Instagram account. For the captions, she used the sentence these men had told her. This may sound odd, but by doing this, Noa faces the catcallers and publicly shames them....

I just received three emails from 500px this evening. I was informed that three of my images were sold. In other words, I can expect a payment of $2.55. In all honesty, it feels like a mockery. When 500px launched Marketplace in 2014 we photographers could receive a 70% commission if 500px was our sole licensing agent for a particular image. Back then it was actually possible to get a decent payment if you sold a few images....

The jury had a tough task of selecting only ten out of over 6,000 submissions from across all 50 U.S. states and seven Canadian provinces and territories. The submissions were sent to four different categories: Professional, Amateur, Youth, and Plants for Birds, and the winning photos will be featured in future issues of Audubon and Nature’s Best Photography magazines. The overall winner is Joanna Lentini with her underwater image of a double-crested cormorant taken in Los Islotes, Mexico....
