The IRIX 15mm f/2.4 lens we first introduced you to back in March at The Photography Show is now available to order. The first shipments of both Blackstone and Firefly versions of the lens are on their way to distributors and retailers throughout Europe. Unfortunately, folks in the USA will have to wait a little while longer before they see them cross the Atlantic. Swiss lens makers, IRIX have released two versions of hte lens....

The idea of cameras and lenses that let you refocus your photos after shooting has been around for a while. But after Lytro, another one seems to have failed. K|Lens One, a light field lens that captures depth information, has canceled its Kickstarter campaign and it won’t be launched after all. The K|Lens One was announced last year, and the Kickstarter campaign was started shortly after the announcement. A cool thing about it is that it’s not a whole camera system that captures depth information about your images....

The basic three point lighting technique is a staple in portraits. It’s a simple and straightforward setup. It consists of a key light, a fill light and a rim light. It’s a technique anybody interested in portraits should learn. And it’s not necessarily because it looks particularly amazing, but it allows you to learn the basic principles of lighting any subject. Lenny Kravitz is well-known for his music, but he’s also an avid photographer and a fan of Leica cameras. So, Leica teamed up with the famous musician to bring you a stylish, limited edition version of Leica M Monochrom. It’s covered with faux python skin, and along with two lenses, it will set you back “only” $24,000. This special edition of Leica M Monochrom is named “Drifter,” after Lenny who is a self-proclaimed drifter himself....

Instead of being the only option, film photography is a growing trend in the digital age. Carried by this tide, Lomography introduced another set of cameras for the film lovers – the Simple Use Film Camera. It’s a disposable camera, pre-loaded with 25mm film with 36 shots.
