Elon Musk Plans To Dim The Starlink Satellites To Reduce Light Pollution In The Night Sky

SpaceX’s Starlink satellites have been controversial since before the first round of them were launched. Having recently launched more, which is going to keep happening for a while, the debates have sparked up again. There are currently 422 of the anticipated 12,000 (with 30,000 more applied for) Starlink satellites floating around our planet, and they’re already upsetting people. The two main reasons (if we remove all the tinfoil hat conspiracies) are that they will ruin our view of the night sky, which really sucks for astrophotography, and that it will make certain scientific studies all but impossible due to their overpowering brightness relative to the dim lights littered throughout the universe....

Godox Makes The Ring Flash Portable Again With The New Godox R200

Well, this is interesting. It looks like Godox has finally figured out what they want to do as a Godox AR400 ring flash replacement. And it turns out, it’s an addon head for the Godox AD200 and AD200Pro strobes. It’s the Godox R200 ring flash and as mentioned, it’s a head designed specifically to connect to the AD200 and AD200Pro strobes, rather than an entire unit in itself. We’ve seen some great timelapses from folks such as Kirill Neiezhmakov who take us on wild rides through various cities around the world....

How I Shot These Etherial Portraits With A Lensbaby

So this is happening more and more… I’m talking with a client who wants me to shoot a creative portrait of them, and they say, “I like your blurry photos, I want that look.” My blurry photos? Most of the time that’s not something a photographer wants to hear, but I know they’re referring to the shots I’ve done over the years with the Lensbaby creative effects lenses. I’ve been shooting studio portraits with them for a long time now and there’s nothing quite like them....
