It was first teased back in April, but now the Laowa 4mm f/2.8 Fisheye from Venus Optics has been officially announced, along with availability and pricing. Designed for Micro Four Thirds, and taking a break from their “Zero-D” wide-angle lenses, this one offers a super-wide 210° field of view with some pretty crazy distortion. A lens built to basically see behind itself offers up a lot of great advantages for interesting perspectives, but one of its primary uses will no doubt be for creating 360° content....

It’s been an interesting journey for Light, the company that brought us that crazy 16-lens camera five years ago. It garnered a lot of hype when it was first announced, and once word got out that the company had secured $30mil in funding and the Light L16 camera was going to see a big storage increase, a lot of people got excited. The mass shooting at a Florida high school last week shook up the USA as well as the rest of the world. A man from Texarkana, Texas apparently tried making a cruel joke out of it, and it sent him straight to jail. 24 years old Ricky Rankin posted a photo of an AR-15 assault rifle to his Instagram page, the same type of rifle used in the Florida high school shooting....

When you’re photographing interiors or tall buildings, perspective distortion is often inevitable. There’s ways around it with tilt shift lenses or large format film cameras, but for most of us that’s not an option. These days, Lightroom, Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop and other tools provide a number of fancy automated ways to help correct for this. Sometimes, though, it doesn’t quite hit the mark, and we need to step in and do it manually....

Some photographers were accused, or even banned from working because of the accusations of sexual misconduct. As an attempt to fight and prevent sexual harassment, three Canadian models have started a closed Facebook group. Here, both female and male models can submit the information about Canadian photographers. This way, they can warn each other and point out to the photographers who should be avoided....
