Spekular is spectacular! Hmmm – a little over the top? Not really. I recently had the opportunity to put this new LED lighting system from Spiffy Gear to the test. Spekular is a modular lighting system that can take on all kinds of shapes depending on your needs and this can save you money and the time needed to pack and set-up light modifiers especially when you are working on location....

This is probably one of the most in-depth lens teardowns I’ve seen from Lensrentals. Their efforts weren’t by choice, though. The lens lied to them. The team recently posted a teardown of the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM lens that had a broken element inside it. It appeared as though the element might reside inside the stabilization system, which is relatively easy to remove. It turned out, though, that the IS system of the lens was simply masking the true location of the broken element....

Techart has just announced the TZE-01. It’s the world’s first autofocus Sony E to Nikon Z mount lens adapter. The Nikon Z mirrorless cameras have a 2mm shorter flange distance than Sony’s EF mount. Techart has managed to not only take advantage of this tiny space to create what appears to be a fairly solid looking adapter, but they’ve also fit a CPU in there. The Techart TZE-01’s CPU converts the protocols between Nikon body and Sony lens so that it gets all of the autofocus, aperture control and lens stabilisation features you’d expect to see when using the same lens on a Sony camera....

Furthermore, the Mac becomes more powerful and much more efficient thanks to its M1 processors, which use a different architecture.
