California-based Skydio launched their R1 drone last year, and it was a very impressive piece of kit. 13 onboard cameras allowed it to be fully autonomous and virtually impossible to crash. The problem was, it was pretty huge and at $2,500 it wasn’t very affordable vs the likes of the Phantom and Mavic drones from DJI. Now, though, the Skydio 2 has been announced, a smaller drone with an improved 4K camera for shooting video, full autonomy, complete surround obstacle avoidance, more interactive control options, and only a $999 price tag....

It’s amazing how far sensor technology’s come in the last few years. We’ve had dual pixel autofocus, ultra high ISOs, and a whole bunch of other cool features show up. Phones and bigger camera sensors get more and more powerful with each new generation. This sensor from Sony, though, might be one of the most exciting yet. Sony have developed a way to speed up the data acquisition in a CMOS sensor....

It turns out that both of the A5 and A6 naming options for Sony’s upcoming small form factor full-frame mirrorless camera were wrong. Sony Alpha Rumors is reporting that it’s actually going to be called the Sony A7C. It will have a body largely inspired by the Sony A6600 but with a larger grip to accommodate the NP-FZ100 battery. SAR says that “two solid source[s]” confirmed that the new entry-level camera would indeed be called the Sony A7C and not the A5 or A6 as originally rumoured....

Techart announced its initial Leica M to Sony E mount adapter way back at the beginning of 2016. Now, almost seven years later, they’ve announced the new Techart LM-EA9, the second generation of their Leica M to Sony E autofocus adapter. It comes with a sleeker design and features four built-in small, lightweight servo motors that offer more power and faster autofocus operation than its predecessor. This motor-driven adapter means that you can use all those old Leica M manual focus lenses on your Sony E mount cameras with full autofocus capability....
