Today, with the increase in the number of streaming services and even YouTube subscriptions, video players have come back to the spotlight. We often use our smartphones to play music and videos and with these devices becoming more and more specced to run multiple instances and more elaborate apps, doing so has become more and more comfortable and fun. In addition, there is the ease-of-use of being able to watch your videos from anywhere, whether they are a simple recording of a party or a streaming movie....

I enjoy learning about people who made history and paved the way for the generations after them. This photo shows three of these women captured together way back in the late 19th century. These are the first three licensed women doctors from their respective countries who obtained a degree in Western medicine. The photo is dated 10 October 1885. The three women, from left to right, are Anandibai Joshee from India, Kei Okami from Japan, and Sabat Islambooly from Syria....

The recently announced Sony A6400 has created a lot of buzz, especially with the new real-time Eye AF and AF tracking. Thailand-based photographer Theera Suriyawongse was excited to buy the latest Sony camera, but he ended up buying one with the weirdest mistake ever. He got himself an A6400 – but it was “disguised” in an A6300’s body. Theera tells DIYP that he had a call from Sony Store at The Mall Bangkapi in Bangkok telling him that the Sony A6400 was available....

It seems that we hear about all sorts of unprofessional photographers more and more often. The latest incident is a bit unusual though. A wedding videographer from Australia lied about his skill, and possibly even his age. As it turned out, he is just a teenage kid who films terrible videos, and he ended up in national news after screwing up a few of them. Brides Amy and Teagan paid $1,900 AUD (around $1,300 USD) for videography packages with Simplicity Films, a business run by a young man named Ashley....

Although we have ran the occasional pranks in the past for April Fools’ Day, we decided not to do one this year. We wanted to just sit back and enjoy everybody else’s jokes this year. As it’s already April 1st in Australia, a few have started coming through already.
