One “bump” like this may not be a big deal, but some comments in response to the post astounded me. It seems that it is not only standard, but it’s practically company policy....

Astrophotography is a somewhat unique genre in photography. You’re often dealing with such crazy extremes of focal length and exposure times that many of the normal rules of photography just don’t seem to apply. Or, at least, not in quite the same way. There’s been a lot of buzz lately around AI, “deep learning”, computer vision. It’s all to do with image recognition. Apple and Google have also been implementing it with their mobile operating systems to help categorise your shots. Facebook also does this, too, although it rarely makes itself obvious. It’ll often see faces, and ask if you want to tag somebody. Sometimes it’ll even recognise the person. But that’s about it....

The lockdowns around the world have us all thinking a little outside the box right now when it comes to our photography and filmmaking. We’re not able to get out to shoot our usual subjects, so we start to experiment and try new things. For photographer and filmmaker Arthur Cauty, that meant looking back on some of his old work to see if he could make something new out of it....

But the fun part is: he uses Star Wars Lego (and even Master Yoda’s voice occasionally) to guide you through the theory. I think that it hardly gets more amusing than that....
