I like Ted Forbes, I really do, and I’ve been following his videos for about five years, but this is a difficult one for me to wrap my head around. Part of me agrees with him completely but another part of me vehemently disagrees, because it all depends entirely on context and one’s goals as a photographer. Ted’s recent video on the Art of Photography YouTube channel does make some very good points, though, regardless of whether you agree or not, or even if you feel it doesn’t apply to you or your work....

Since its sale to Japan Industrial Partners, there are a lot of questions over the future of the Olympus imaging business and what that might mean for their cameras, lenses and other products going forward. 43Rumors reports, though, that some of those questions already seem to have something of an answer. But you’re probably not going to like it. Most interestingly, though, it seems that Olympus Europe and Olympus North America didn’t know about the sale beforehand....

Ok, you can stop speculating and guessing now. Panasonic has finally officially announced the new Panasonic Lumix GH6 Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera. Rather than a slight refresh like the Panasonic GH5 Mark II, the GH6 presents a pretty major upgrade over the GH5 for those that need it, with a new 25.2-megapixel sensor, 7.5 stops of IBIS and 5.7K video at up to 60 frames per second. It comes five years after the release of the Panasonic Lumix GH5 and it represented a significant step up in Panasonic’s video capabilities over its predecessor....

Canon recently released its second quarter 2022 financial results and in an attached question and answer document about the camera market and its future, the company was surprisingly open and upfront with regard to questions about the state of the camera industry. Canon says that the camera market “has largely bottomed out at its current size” and that they expect that from here on out, the only way is up. Of course, it was never going to happen that the camera market would disappear entirely and Canon’s always known this....

So, it looks like there will be three different DJI Mini 3 Pro packages when DJI makes the official announcement, which now seems to be rumoured for May 10th – it was previously rumoured to come yesterday. And after seeing one DJI Mini 3 Pro package leaked by a Dutch retailer, more images have been leaked showing that there will be three different packages available along with their European prices. The new images come via Jasper Ellens, who’s been one of the major sources of DJI Mini 3 Pro leaks and show off the drone in great detail along with exactly what’s included in each of the three package options....
