Today, Adobe finally unleashes an update that many users have been waiting for. As well as giving us back the Legacy Healing Brush, this update to Adobe’s CC2015 suite of applications brings some great new features to Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere and other applications. For me, the separation between SmallHD and Atomos was pretty clear. Atomos made recording monitors (mostly) and SmallHD made monitors that do not record. Seeing lenses taken apart and dismantled for the first time, or anything mechanically or electronically complex just fascinates me. Canon has filed a pretty interesting looking patent at the Japan Patent Office. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it yet, but it replaces the focus ring on the lens with a touch panel which would let you control the lens with your thumb as you handhold it. On the plus side, it’d make people start to hold their cameras properly, but it does seem like it’d be a bit of a pain for a lot of photographers, particularly those shooting on tripods – like landscape or product photographers....
