The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were ever so kind to drop into Kelowna as part of their royal tour of British Columbia and the Yukon this week. Here is a behind the scenes report on their visit. There’s been a lot of hype about the camera in the latest crop of iPhones from Apple. And it seems that it’s been somewhat justified. At least, certainly more justified than past iPhone releases, that have turned out to not be quite as good as most of their Android contemporaries. The new iPhones look to have seen some decent camera upgrades. With the iPhone 13, there are four different models, offering a couple of different camera arrays and Apple’s put together this seven-and-a-half-minute video to help you figure out which model is right for you....
Astrophotographer Jason Guenzel captured this incredible image of the Rosette Nebula with the James Webb telescope en route to its parking orbit. He managed to record 45 minutes of the telescope’s journey through space from no less than 1 million kilometres away (620,000 miles). “That’s 2.5 times further away from the moon,” says Jason, and even more impressive when you realise that he’s shooting through a “tiny backyard telescope.” Jason had been following the route of the telescope since its launch, and immediately thought that he would like to get a photo of it....
Atomos first announced their Neon Series production monitors almost 18 months ago. They were announced at Cine Gear 2019 and were true 10-Bit display. Not only were they monitors, but they were recorders, too, which at the time potentially offered 8K resolution 60p in 12-Bit ProRes RAW. Although right now, they offer 4K DCI 60p. We’ve not really heard much about them since then, but now, Atomos has announced that the official launch of the Neon 17 and Neon 24 displays, with shipping beginning this month....
Well, GoPro might be out of the drone game, but it looks like challengers are stepping up to take on DJI. First there was Yuneec’s new Typhoon H Plus, and now Autel Robotics have announced their new EVO; A compact folding drone to take the DJI Mavic Pro head on. Boasting a 30 minute flight time, the EVO contains all the features we’d hope to find in a competitive drone today....
