We’ve seen plenty of stunning images of Jupiter and its moons, Ganymede, Europa, and Io, thanks to NASA’s Juno probe. However, the spacecraft recently had a glitch that cost it most of the images it had taken during the latest flyby. That’s over 200 photos that could have been used for scientific purposes as much as for admiration. And what’s concerning is – this is the second glitch in a row....
Godox’s flash system has become extremely popular over the last couple of years. And while it now supports half a dozen different platforms one common point of complaint has been the triggers. Specifically the X1T. It works beautifully, but its user interface can be somewhat slow, clunky, and annoying. Godox released the XT32 to help alleviate some of the UI issues, although it still leaves a little room for improvement. If a photo posted to Facebook (and then deleted) this morning offers any indication, though, Godox have made those improvements....
Normally I don’t pay much attention from leaks from OsitaLV because he seems to be wrong at least as much as he’s right. But this one is too interesting to ignore. In a recent tweet, OsitaLV showed off what he claims to be “The future of OSMO”, with a series of images that appear to be a more professional looking DJI video camera. It’s a very interesting and definitely unique design that has a built-in gimbal....
Usually, it’s female bodies that cause the Photoshop controversy. This time, not so much. It seems that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has had a little Photoshop treatment for the Shot Caller movie posters, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. It looks suspiciously like the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s body from the four year old Snitch movie poster. It was spotted by Scott Wampler of Birth.Movies.Death. It’s not surprising that many others had noticed it, as Snitch wasn’t met with the best of receptions....
We’ve seen some of the algorithms that can enhance low-quality photos. The researchers from Oxford University and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow have developed a new approach for restoring damaged or low-quality images. Instead of training the neural network with thousands of photos, their system called Deep Image Prior works everything out from the original image. And without any previous learning, it turns a pixelated or damaged photo into a hi-res one....
