I have been using both the Nikon 14mm f/2.8 and the Nikon 16mm f/2.8 fisheye for a while now, and I have been noticing that the images from the 14mm are very very similar to the images from the 16mm fisheye after a lens correction has been applied. Of course, there is one very big difference between these two lenses: the Nikon AF Nikkor 14mm f/2.8 ED lens costs $1891.95…while the Nikon AF Fisheye Nikkor 16mm f/2....
Nikon has now officially announced two new macro lenses for their Z mount mirrorless system. The “normal” length macro is the Nikon Nikkor Z MC 50mm f/2.8, with a minimum focus distance of 16cm. The other is the Nikon Nikkor Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S, offering stabilisation and a 1:1 reproduction ratio with a 29cm minimum focus distance. The 105mm f/2.8 VR S also features the built-in OLED display found on Nikon’s Z mount pro zooms like the 14-24mm, 24-70mm & 70-200mm f/2....
When Nikon started shifting over from the screw-drive autofocus system of their regular F mount AF lenses to their AF-S system they started adding autofocus motors inside the lens itself. One of the key selling points at the time was that no matter which camera you were using, the lens would always rack from minimum to maximum focus at the same speed as the motor was in the lens itself. Along comes Z mount with adapted F mount lenses and this didn’t hold true anymore, with them generally spinning slower (albeit achieving similar overall results due to the more advanced AF system)....
Spencer Elden has had his latest attempt at suing Nirvana over his claims of “sexual exploitation” dismissed in US District Court in Los Angeles. This is the third such time he’s attempted to sue the band, and this dismissal means there won’t be a fourth time. A previous claim was dismissed in January, as Elden’s legal team failed to file an opposition to a Nirvana estate request. A new deadline was set, the appropriate paperwork was seemingly submitted and it came before the court....
We’ve seen AI used for grouping photos before. A new app named Nude does it too – but it’s focused on the “naughty” photos. If you have any NSFW images on your mobile device, this app promises to automate the process of finding them and hiding them from prying eyes. According to the description, the app will analyze your camera roll to detect sensitive material. It will then be imported to the app and deleted from your camera roll and iCloud....
