A few weeks back we held a fun contest revolving around editing a photo. We started out with a photo by Dave K. Piper with strong compositional elements, but used a ‘naked raw’ file to let anybody who wants to try and tweak it to their likings. The winner, chosen by Dave (and announced at the bottom of the post) gets a a sweet Blue CityWalker 20 camera bag from Think Tank Photo....
It’s nice that we have all kinds of camera support & stabilisation systems today. As well as the more traditional tripod, we’ve got monopods, sliders, gimbals and all sorts of things. Sometimes, though, you just want to pack super light with the camera & lens, or perhaps you’re caught off guard and need to shoot some nice smooth clips. Most of us know Instagram as a photo-sharing app. However, it’s been a while since it has become more than that and we’ve all witnessed the constant changes. Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, recently said it out loud: Instagram is no longer a photo-sharing app. He explained that the company is focusing on other things and trying to become… well, a little bit of everything. Mosseri shared a short video to his Instagram and Twitter, explaining the plans for the future of the app....
Here at the photography blogosphere, a few blogs picked up on a tweet from Krita@mastodon.art calling Adobe out for having a policy that allows them to use users’ photos stored on the cloud to train its AI systems. Since then, Adobe has released a statement to Peta Pixel telling that they do not use users’ data for Experimental Generative AI features. I am not an attorney, but I can see at least two reservations here with the words “Experimental” and “Generative”....
Graphic Designer Randy Lewis creates quite an unusual and fun series of image manipulations. The artist takes simple, everyday objects and blends them together, creating something new and unordinary. The result of his creativity is a series of clever and witty images. They’ll make you look twice, and they are certain to put a smile on your face.
