Pentax users seem to have been neglected when it comes to the world of flash. There’s been very little 3rd party support at all. Pretty much their only option, if they want TTL or High-Speed Sync is to go the Cactus route if they don’t want to go with Pentax branded speedlights. Ok, you could go with Metz, but your options become even more limited with those if you want to combine it with strobes....
When I see photos that radiate love and friendship, it always melts my heart, no matter if they show humans or animals. German photographer Tobias Baumgaertner captured a friendship of two penguins, hugging and consoling each other. His photo of this adorable duo standing flipper in flipper quickly went viral, and if it doesn’t make you go “aww,” I don’t know what will. Tobias published the first photo a month ago, along with some backstory, but also with his personal message of love and encouragement....

He’s been merging illusion with reality in his work for a while now, and now he’s added an interesting twist to it: artificial intelligence. Thanks to tools like DALL-E and Midjourney, you can create an image from pretty much anything you can spell. Antti was curious whether it will be possible with his work. Since it’s dreamy and surreal, Midjourney seemed like a logical choice – and it did a remarkably good job!...
I was hoping that new memory card company ProGrade Digital would give photographers some good news about XQD at some point. And this simultaneously isn’t good news, but it also sort of is. ProGrade Digital have confirmed that they are not going to be pursuing the XQD memory format, which isn’t going to make some Nikon shooters happy. They are, however, working toward XQD’s successor, CFexpress. CFexpress is backwards compatible with XQD – if the device manufacturer allows it – but with much faster transfer rates....
As phones increase in capability, so do their storage requirements. And as one of the world’s largest producers of smartphones and smartphone technology, Samsung has been working on bumping that up. Now they’ve announced that production has begun on the industry’s first 1 terabyte embedded Universal Flash Storage (eUFS) 2.1 chip. With microSD cards now hitting the 512GB mark, it’s no surprise that internal mobile storage needed to catch up quickly....
