The Assembly Bill 5 (or AB 5) was recently signed into law in California. It limits the use of classifying workers as independent contractors, and “forces” companies to classify them as employees. When it takes effect, this law will also limit many freelance photographers and photojournalists. So, The National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) has decided to file a lawsuit against the California state.Advertisements The law was signed in September 2019 and it will take effect from 1 January 2020....

Recently, Panasonic announced that the Panasonic S1H mirrorless camera would receive a new firmware update on May 25th that would, amongst other things, add support for RAW over HDMI so that you could record 4K ProRes RAW to the Atomos Ninja V recorder. Well, it’s May 25th, the new firmware has dropped, but you can’t shoot ProRes RAW yet. Panasonic and Atomos have released a joint statement stating that an “unforeseen technical issue” during the final round of beta testing requires a little more work....

It seems that the previous suggestion of Panasonic’s first full-frame mirrorless camera sharing the Leica L mount might actually be true. And not only that but according to the rumour mill, Sigma might be on-board with them, too. 43Rumors reports “with 100% certainty” that Panasonic, Leica and Sigma are working together on a new camera system. A collaboration between brands on a system that is compatible between the three. A bit like Micro Four Thirds, only a full frame version, and apparently without Olympus....

If you’re embedding images from Photobucket to other websites, prepare for an unpleasant surprise. They have changed their subscription rules, and consequently broke links of millions of images across the internet. In case you want to embed the photos from Photobucket to another website or forum, you have to pay $399 per year to make the photos visible on third-party websites again. According to Norvic Philatelics, this change happened without any previous announcement....
