At the moment the UK has a movement of dark art and conceptual artists growing from a love of movies and Photoshop. Their work is creeping its way on to more commercial mainstream sites like Behance, and starting to make an impact, amongst the more straight cut photography. The Godox ML60 is an interesting little light. I say little because it’s similar in size to the company’s AD300Pro strobe, which is really tiny. The ML60 isn’t a strobe, though. It’s a 60 Watt continuous LED light and it can be powered either from an AC adapter in the studio or a pair of NP-F style batteries out on location. For its size, it puts out a whole heck of a lot of light, and with the Godox S2 modifier, you can use it with Bowens S mount modifiers....
It looks like DJI might have some competition in the license-free (in many countries) sub-250g market. Hubsan has just announced their new Zino Mini SE drone and it looks quite impressive. It’s a clear response from Hubsan to the recently launched DJI Mini SE, and while it does cost slightly more than DJI’s drone, it offers some nice improvements. The Hubsan Zino Mini SE shoots 4K video at 30fps (2.7K at 60fps), has a very impressive flight time of 45 minutes, weighs 249g and costs only $349....
MIOPS has seen some measure of success with its rather popular MIOPS Mobile camera trigger. Well, now they’re getting into motion control with the launch of the new Capsule360. It’s a modular motion control system that offers up to 3 axes of movement. Paired with your Android or iOS device, it also offers real-time facial and object tracking. As with some of the previous MIOPS projects, the Capsule360 is being funded through Kickstarter....
Light painting gives you plenty of possibilities to create colorful and trippy images. The team behind Wango Tango Music Festival wanted photos like this for its performers, so they invited Jason D. Page to help them turn their idea into reality. They had to work fast and managed to take 50 celebrity light painting portraits – each of them in a single take!
