In 2014 movie Interstellar, Christopher Nolan managed to create the first scientifically accurate black hole. Some sources claim it’s not the case, but nevertheless – I think the movie and the special effects are fantastic. This movie has inspired filmmaker Thomas Vanz to create a short film named INTRA, which takes you on a journey from a black hole to the Big Bang in only four minutes. Inspired by the “White Hole Theory” and Interstellar, Thomas created this abstract, immersive video using mainly practical effects and chemical reactions....

Over this past year, an increasing trend in photography seems to be finding a viable alternative to Adobe Lightroom. Some have done it to get out from underneath the subscription service while others aren’t pleased with what remains to be inconsistent speed and performance. It seems to be more of the latter than the former, with the Lightroom Catalog largely responsible for the latter. I’m not a software developer by any stretch of the imagination, but my non-educated guess would be that there is only so much that Adobe developers can do to increase performance with the existing framework that supports the Lightroom Catalog without completely starting over from scratch....

Tokina has today announced its new SZ 2x Extender (TA-020), a T-mount 2x teleconverter for the Tokina SZX Super Tele 400mm f/8 Reflex MF lens released in July 2020. The SZ 2x Extender sits in between the lens and the mount adapter for your camera system – Canon EF, Fujifilm X, Micro 4/3, Nikon F, Nikon Z, or Sony E – and while it’s being marketed specifically with Tokina’s 400mm f/8 – they’ve even launched a new kit bundle that includes the two together – it should hypothetically work with just about any T-mount lens....
