Genealogy website MyHeritage has launched a brand new fun AI tool AI Time Machine which lets you try out looks from different historical eras. It’s as easy as uploading a variety of photographs, and the AI does the rest. The feature is based on the image generator model Stable Diffusion and licensed by AI image generation company Astria. It’s not the first of its kind, but it’s simple and quick to try, and the results are both amusing and slightly uncanny in their execution....

Well, this is a shocker. Image sharing platform Instagram has weighed in on the whole embedding thing after a second case has arisen involving post embedding and copyright infringement. Instagram has come forward, telling Ars Technica that it does NOT grant a sublicense to anybody who includes a public Instagram post in a website via its embed feature. The news seems to not only contradict the assertion of a New York federal judge but also most peoples interpretation of Instagram’s own terms and conditions....

NVIDIA has today announced their new hotly-anticipated RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti mobile GPUs for RTX Studio laptops. Designed for both gamers and creatives, the new GPU comes with a host of new laptops coming from the usual suspects like Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc. The RTX 3050 takes advantage of many of the new GPU-accelerated AI features out there like Smart Portrait and Super Resolution in Photoshop, Scene Edit Detection in Premiere Pro and the Magic Mask feature in DaVinci Resolve 17, offering some significant performance gains over the previous generation NVIDIA RTX and GTX-based laptops....

This is a strange one. Apparently, the Olympus OM-D Webcam Beta software that Olympus released to allow you to use your Olympus OM-D mirrorless camera as a USB webcam has ceased to function. As of January 1st, 2021, it just quit working without warning. And, sure, you can change your computer’s clock to trick it, but then that can potentially cause other issues if you want to actually use it. Olympus has acknowledged the issue and says that their R&D team have identified the problem, with a new and fixed version of the software on the way “as soon as possible”....
