There’s a group of people out there that are often ignored when it comes to photography. That group is the visually impaired. With photography being such a visual medium, it’s an easy group to ignore. That being said, I don’t think camera manufacturers are intentionally neglecting this group of users. At least, no more so than they ignore any other kind of impairment. Accessibility options common to other electronic devices have always been lacking from cameras....

Can a filter really help make digital images look more organic/film-like? We take a look at the new Black Mist filter from K&F Concept. Essentially, the Black Mist filter is designed to add some atmosphere into an image. As if there was a slight fog or mist present. You can see it here in this shot of my son. Taken on a nice clear but overcast day. Using the Black Mist filter makes it look like there’s a slight haze in the distance....

Observing and photographing animals and insects is one of the most calming activities I can think of. For me, it’s a step to feeling more connected to nature and the world around me and understanding the local ecosystem better. And when plants and a bee hotel on my balcony help birds or bees, I feel extra happy. If you have enough space and time, and you’re willing to invest some effort, you can build a pond of your own and help an entire community of plants, animals, and insects....

For the first time, the shoots were also held in the US. The project had a group from Idaho run Christmas Wish in November, and another group from New York had a shoot early December. The shoots were finished earlier this month....

It’s a wide ranging industry where entrepreneurs of all kinds have created businesses revolving around photography some way or another and not always by being actual photographers. Some people in photography open new camera gear boxes on YouTube, others offer photography workshops, some do guided photography tours in London, some mostly sell prints, others spend their days on shoots and there are the ones who publish books or ebooks while “influencer” use their status and kill it on Instagram....
