What if you could see yourself in 14 years, would you want to know what you look like? Urs Recher is a Switzerland based photographer that pursued a personal project that had me fascinated. Back in 2002, he shot beautiful portraits of two models. He shot the same models again this year with the exact same setup! the only thing that separates the shots is time. I had to reach out to him and ask him a few questions and he kindly indulged me with the answers....

Photography wouldn’t be possible without light, and where there is light – there are shadows. Creative Belgian artist Vincent Bal chases shadows and turns them into something unique. With some everyday objects, a few doodles and a camera, Vincent gives life to shadows and turns them into super-fun photos like you’ve never seen before. Vincent says he has always loved drawing, ever since he was a child. He always wanted to become a comic strip maker....

Well, if this isn’t one of the weirdest but coolest camera modifications I’ve seen, I’m not sure what is. Canadian company, Back-Bone Gear has been performing camera modifications to GoPros and Sony RX0 cameras for a while now. They offer a range of modifications as well as kits you can implement yourself. Their latest release is the elegant monster you see above, the Ribcage RXo II. It’s essentially a Sony RX0 II converted to accept Micro Four Thirds or C-Mount lenses, and boy does it look like it’d be fun to play with....

Sometimes, the best option is still to just build it yourself. A few months ago, we introduced you to filmmaker Robert McIntosh. He told us how he hacked up a GoPro to cut the fat and minimise its space & weight. Now, he’s had a little while to refine his design, and taken things even smaller. And it produces fantastic results. It’s only 5″ wide, and 3″ tall with 2″ propellers....

When he wanted to create a futuristic movie in his imaginary world, a green screen was not an option for Michael Plescia. It was too expensive and way too time-consuming to composite every frame. So, he gathered a dream team that helped him reinvent filmmaking and make his movie possible. He shares the story of how he killed the green screen and brought his idea to life.
