My Journey From Dslr To Mirrorless Cameras As A Photojournalist

It started with a phone call from the picture editor of one of country’s best selling newspapers asking me to catch a flight that evening to Amsterdam to accompany a journalist for a story first thing the next morning. I was warned to be very discrete as the story could be very sensitive to some people. It involved a Dutch trawler that was registered in the UK under a flag of convenience that enabled it to use up 25% of the UK fishing quota by just one “industrialized” super trawler....

Nasa Has Created Posters For Every Space Mission And They Re So Bad They Re Amazing

Of all NASA’s achievements over the years, this has to be up there amongst the best. It’s certainly the most hilarious. It turns out, that on every mission since the first International Space Station mission in 2000, NASA has created expedition posters. Posters that typically include a group photo of the crew. After a while, I guess they started to feel a bit boring. And maybe a bit cringy. So, they decided to take things up a notch or two....

Nasa Shares First Ever Visible Light Images Of Venus S Surface

NASA’s Parker Solar Probe has treated us with some stunning photos so far (like that time when it “touched” the Sun). But now, its cameras have turned to Venus. The probe has taken its first-visible light images of the surface of Venus. And not only it’s Parker’s first, but this is the first-ever photo of our neighboring planet taken in the light that the human eye can see. The Parker Solar Probe recently had two recent flybys of Venus, which was a great opportunity to take some photos of the planet....

Nikon S Keymission360 Beaten Out By A 199 Iphone Addon

Nikon’s KeyMission 360 camera landed with a fair bit of hype when it was first announced in January. A real camera manufacturer was getting into the 360° market. A company with a hundred years of photographic history. Then after delays in release due to earthquakes, the KeyMission 360 was re-announced, along with two more 80° and 170° cameras. I got to see the KeyMission 360 in person twice this year, at The Photography Show in March, and at Photokina a couple of months ago, but they wouldn’t let us get our hands on them to try them out for ourselves....

Nikon Wants To Increase Development Speed Of New Products And Shorten The Lead Time For Camera Releases

It seems that Nikon has finally realised that they can’t just keep releasing new bodies with small incremental updates every few years. Japanese website Newswitch recently published an interview with Nikon Senior Vice President Nobuyoshi Gokyu, where he stated that they want to “increase the development speed of new products”. He says that Nikon also wants to “shorten the lead time to put out new products”. That would be good, given that it’s over a year now since the Z6 and Z7 were announced, and we’ve not really seen anything new at all from them, camera-wise, since then other than a development announcement of the Nikon D6....
