Almost all of us have photos stored in a box (or several) somewhere. We know we should be scanning them, keeping digital backups of everything, just in case. We know we should, but most of us don’t. Instead, those photos get left in boxes, and largely forgotten about, except for when that relative you haven’t seen in a decade decides to show up and reminisce. The problem, of course, is that it’s often just so inconvenient....

Fujifilm is holding not one but two events in New York City this September. The first is the X Summit event on September 8th, where they’re expected to launch a new camera. Two days later, on September 10th, they’re hosting a free Fujikina “interactive festival” event for anybody interested in photography to come and celebrate the 10th anniversary of Fuji’s X-Mount system. The X Summit event is likely to be the announcement of the long-awaited Fujifilm X-H2 mirrorless camera with the company’s shiny new 40-megapixel 5HR X-Trans CMOS sensor....

It looks like the trend of killing off DSLR lenses continues. After Nikon and Canon, Tamron and Sigma seem to be killing off a bunch of lenses for DSLR cameras. With 18 lenses from Sigma and 22 from Tamron, there is a total of 40 lenses that are soon no longer going to be produced. Nikon has released a new v1.3.0 firmware update for the Nikon D850 DSLR, six years after its initial release in 2017. Widely regarded as one of the best DSLRs ever made, it’s largely been usurped by the Nikon Z7 II, but there are still plenty of Nikon D850 bodies out there, and they’re still available to buy new. So, Nikon continues to support them. The new firmware update introduces the Portrait Impression Balance feature, which was introduced with the Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II mirrorless cameras....
