For two weeks now, there has been an ongoing scam that caused twenty people from LA to lose thousands of dollars in camera gear. A user under the name “Andy Mai” uses Facebook Marketplace and Venmo payment system to pull the scam and steal the gear. Four victims of the scam have been verified, and in total they lost $25,000. However, after two sellers shared their story, it turned out that there may be as many as 20 scammed people, with the total loss of as much as $100,000....

Canon has today announced the new EOS M50 Mark II mirrorless camera. Not much appears to have changed on the outside between the original Canon EOS M50 although it’s had a few significant enhancements on the inside, including improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF (but not for 4K) and Eye Detection AF. For vloggers, there’s a new vertical shooting mode, and it now has a clean HDMI output signal for when you want to feed into a capture device on your computer for live streaming – although it’s also compatible with Canon’s webcam software....

Photons to Photos has published dynamic range data from the Canon EOS R7 and added it to its database. It shows some nice improvements over the original Canon 7D (as well it should) and beats out the Canon 7D Mark II by at least a small amount across the board.
