Every few years, Adobe adds something new and interesting to their raw file engine. We saw it when they added the Clarity slider, when we lost “Fill Light” and “Recovery” in favour of shadows, highlights and white levels. And we saw it fairly recently when they introduced Dehaze. Now, they’ve added a new “Texture” slider, which is sort of like the Clarity slider, only much smarter. Along with the new raw engine update, Adobe has today announced updates to various versions of Lightroom, including Lightroom Classic as well as Lightroom for iOS and Android....

We all saw the big announcement a couple of weeks ago about Lytro’s new Cinema camera, but the folks over at No Film School sat down to have a more in-depth discussion with Lytro’s Head of Light Field Video, John Karafin, and got an exclusive look into some of the features and abilities of the Lytro Cinema camera system. With a 755MP sensor offering 16 stops of dynamic range and framerates of up to 300fps, one could be forgiven for thinking that these were the most impressive points about this camera, but it barely begins to scratch the surface....

If we make photographs with a long exposure and our composition includes movement, (of either our subject or our camera,) we are recording an image our eyes will never see naturally. The duration of time our shutter is open will typically result in a blurred photo. NASA’s NEOWISE mission aims to show us and of course, the astronomers, just how active and busy our universe is....

With the exception of the coronavirus, the photography world is glued to news of Canon’s upcoming EOS R5 – essentially the mirrorless continuation of Canon’s popular EOS 5D DSLR line. But Canon is also working on an EOS R6, which looks set to replace the EOS 6D DSLR product line – which will presumably end with the 6D Mark II. EOS R6 talk has been a little quiet for a while, but a few new specs about the camera have been leaked via Canon Rumors....
