Extraordinary Photo Of Andromeda Galaxy Wins Astronomy Photographer Of The Year 2020

Advertisements The contest shared 2020 shortlists earlier this year, and I couldn’t wait to see the winners. French photographer Nicolas Lefaudeux has won the Royal Observatory Greenwich’s title of Insight Investment Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2020. He has beaten over 5,000 entries from photographers across six continents, and his image also won the Galaxies category. Taken in Forges-les-Bains, Île-de-France, the photo shows the Andromeda Galaxy shot in a very unusual way....

Feiyu Goes Head To Head Against Dji With Their New Pocket Handheld Gimbal Camera

Feiyutech has announced a new camera that looks somewhat familiar. It’s the new Feiyu Pocket Handheld Gimbal – a tiny 4K 60fps 3-axis stabilised camera that can be held easily in your hand. Yeah, it does resemble the DJI Osmo Pocket a little bit huh? Except, this one’s about 2/3rds the price of the DJI, priced at only $249 While the two might look similar on the outside, there are some fairly significant differences on the inside....

Fuji Recommends To Keep Ois Turned On Even With A Tripod For Xf 16 80Mm F 4 And Xf 200Mm F 2 Lenses

It’s been a pretty common thing since the early days of Nikon’s VR and Canon’s IS, that you turn stabilisation off in lenses when using a tripod. As technology has progressed, turning off the stabilisation hasn’t been important. Fuji, though, has long said that IBIS should be turned off in cameras when shooting on a tripod, nothing has really been said about their lenses. At least, not until now. The folks at Fuji Rumors spotted in the manuals for the Fujinon XF 16-80mm f/4 and Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 lenses that users are specifically advised to keep stabilisation turned on all the time, even when using a tripod....
