It’s been a while since Olympus announced the OM-D E-M5 Mark II, which was already a pretty solid little camera. But now, Olympus has announced its successor, the 20-megapixel Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III, with improved stabilisation, 4K UHD and DCI video, a new EVF and improved weather sealing. Like the Mark II, the Mark III is available in black or silver. There’s no word on whether we’ll see a Titanium version yet....

Equipment cards for use in the studio or on-set can be expensive. REALLY expensive. Of course, those carts often need to hold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment. For a small studio or low budget set, though, you don’t need to go to such expense. There are many other alternatives out there that can work just as well that you can customise for your own needs. If there’s one thing Panasonic’s famous for, it’s inexpensive full-frame lenses. Oh, wait, no, the other one. They’re not famous for inexpensive full-frame lenses. The L mount has proven popular, but when we look at something as ubiquitous as a 50mm f/1.8, the Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 costs more than double the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM and almost double that of the Sony E mount 50mm f/1.8. But it looks like Panasonic might actually be starting to focus a little more on less expensive lenses....

In what is a surprise move amongst the recent trend of paid upgrades for cameras to add more video capabilities, Panasonic has announced that the new firmware update for the Panasonic S1H mirrorless camera, which adds ProRes RAW support over HDMI, will be released completely free of charge. And it’s coming next month, on May 25th. Along with new RAW output support, comes enhanced functionality for video, autofocus and various other features as well as general improvements and boosted performance....
