We’ve seen some crazy, creative, and hilarious marriage proposals over the years. Of course, it’s thanks to photographers and their cameras (or at least photo booths) that we were able to see them in the first place. A man recently hired photographer Lauren Moffe to shoot a proposal. Little did she know that the client was her boyfriend and the proposal was her own! The moment was caught on camera, and while videos like this don’t usually make me get all mushy, this one’s actually quite heartwarming....

Welcome to another edition of Entitled Celebrity Gets Sued! This time it’s Paris Hilton’s turn. Photographer Claudia Fiorella Occhipinti filed a lawsuit against Hilton for editing her photographs and posting them on Instagram without permission. Occhipinti had taken the images for a specific ad campaign with Hilton for her Electricity Perfume line. The photographer claimed that her images of Hilton could only be used by Hilton to promote her perfume “in media, on packaging, or in advertising, and that no sub-licensing is allowed....

When you have imagination and skill, almost anything can become a camera. Photographer Brendan Barry is skillful and loves to build cameras, so he bought an old camper trailer off eBay for £150 (around $200). After some work, it became a giant, functional, and a rather stylish camera. Other than taking photos with it, this “camper camera” doubles as a portable darkroom, so he can take and develop his photos anywhere....

Photographer David Paul Larson recently came under fire after a chat with a model who asked him not to publish her nude photo. It’s a very tricky case, where the photographer has all the legal right to use the image. But after he ignored the model’s plea not to include her image, the community reacted fiercely. Diet Prada shared a screenshot of the conversation between Larson and the model Paulina Keamy....

We just had a beautiful Aurora Australis hit New Zealand a couple of days ago. I was fortunate enough to catch a quiet spot to myself where I could take in the atmosphere and shoot a few images. My favourite from the night was a panorama shot of the Aurora to the south and the galactic core rising to the south east – it was the shot I planned and it seemed to turn out nicely [check out this blogpost if you want to learn how to stitch astro panoramas]....
