Timelapse videos that capture long time periods take plenty of photos and time to make. But NASA took this to a whole new level. Using 425 million high-resolution images, NASA created a timelapse that shows an entire decade of our Sun’s life. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) has been capturing photos of the Sun since 2010. To honor its ten-year anniversary, this incredible timelapse was made. SDO began operating in February 2010, but the video comprises images from June 2010 to June 2020....

The “free” image website Unsplash – a site that remains as controversial as it is popular – has released what it describes as “the most complete high-quality open image dataset ever”. The “dataset” in this instance is essentially the keywords and search metadata of a whole bunch of images that can be downloaded in one big lump. There are two datasets available. The “Full” version contains information for over 2 million images from more than 200,000 photographers around the world and is available for non-commercial use only....
We’ve seen different kinds of anti-drone technology so far: from eagles (thankfully, that was canceled) to an aerial battering ram. And now there’s the Drone Dome laser, developed by an Israel-based company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems (or just Rafael). It uses a high power laser beam to track and take down hostile drones, even a few of them at once. Rafael shared a video to show off the technology, and it indeed seems pretty powerful....
