A year ago, I called out Yongnuo for not being able to keep up with Godox. Their flashes seemed to have stalled in development and they had randomly switched from making inexpensive, but not completely terrible, speedlights to cheap copycat lenses. Now, though, it looks like they’re trying to break into the camera market. Yongnuo has announced through their Facebook page that a new camera is on the way. There’s no name for the new camera yet, but that’s what the post was all about, a contest to name the new camera....
Z-Cam was pretty much unheard of until relatively recently, but they made quite a big splash at NAB earlier this year. They had a pretty sizeable stand offering up some pretty big promises for the filmmaking industry with a set of 4K, 6K and 8K cameras. The 4K Z-Cam E2C was announced just over a week ago, and now the company has followed through with their full-frame E2 F6 and E2 F8 models, capable of shooting 6K and 8K respectively....
I just came across a very interesting set of interviews posted on Zorki Photo. In the post, photographer Stephen Dowling talks with the bigwigs at Ilford, Kodak, Film Ferrania and others. He wanted their thoughts on the current world of film potography. They all agree, the market is definitely growing. Of course, they sell film, so they’re bound to be naturally optimistic. But, we’ve seen an upsurge in interest for film related content recently here on DIYP, too....
