Swiss Bank UBS’ Chief Risk Officer has stepped down this week to pursue a career as a professional photographer. Executive board member Christian Bluhm is currently in charge of risk at UBS Global Wealth Management. As of May 2023, he will be solely focusing on his photography business, a statement from the bank says. According to Bluhm’s website, he is currently renovating a photography studio and gallery which is expected to open in 2023....

Despite the distinct lack of Nokishita in the rumour mill these days, it seems leaks are still coming through just fine. This time, it’s the new OM System camera (which many seem to be calling the “OM-1”) specs that have leaked in their entirety almost a week ahead of the official announcement on February 15th. And thanks to 43Rumors the complete PDF of the camera’s specs have been hosted online. Assuming the leak is accurate, then as rumoured, it does indeed feature a 20-megapixel sensor with a 5,184 x 3888 pixel resolution as well as High Res modes offering 80MP (10,368 x 7,776), 50MP (8,160 x 6,120) and 25MP (5,760 x 4,320) options....

The Creative Commons licenses have been a blessing a curse. It’s allowed people to freely publish their images for other people to use while still having some degree of control over how it’s used. It’s also allowed many people to get access to imagery that they might not otherwise be able to afford to use. But it has also led to a few problems. There are a number of image search websites out there for Creative Commons content now, including Google Images, but now Creative Commons have combined them all into a single searchable database....

I’ve used a number of square filter solutions over the years and it’s rare that new holders are released, but that’s what’s happened with Haida, with the release of the Haida M10 II. It’s an update to the original Haida M10 (review here) and it’s not just a slight rework with a new name, but it actually comes with some pretty nice design changes and improvements over its predecessor. There are quite a lot of sliders out there these days, and many of them are excellent for timelapse, but quite a few of them have one big problem when it comes to video. That problem is noise, which can make it difficult to not only get a good sync track on the camera, but the slider can actually be picked up by dedicated microphones for external audio, too. We’d heard that the new Shark Slider Nano from iFootage, though, is whisper quiet....
