In the grand scheme of things, vlogging is a pretty recent development. Thanks to the proliferation of smartphone cameras and the birth of platforms like YouTube, pretty much anybody can (and does) do it these days. But what would it have looked like if you’d tried to shoot a vlog with the camera tech of 30 years ago? That’s what YouTuber Dan Mace wanted to explore in this video as he shoots the same vlog sequence twice – once with his iPhone 13 Pro Max and once with an Arriflex 16SR3 Super 16mm film camera – to see how the two compare both in ease of use as well as how the final result looks....

Not everybody who uses Photoshop is a photographer. Some are retouchers, others simply want to learn. Even for those who are photographers, it’s not always possible to go and shoot the kinds of images you need to test out certain techniques. Especially if you’re just starting out with photography. Around two years ago I decided that it was time for a change. I’d been shooting with various Nikon cameras (D40, D3200, D5300, D7100) over the years, alongside shooting film. Pierce County Sheriff’s Department in Tacoma, Washington, says that they have arrested former Colorado Springs mayoral candidate, Juliette Parker, and her 16-year-old daughter. The charge? Well, they say she allegedly posed as a newborn photographer in an attempt to steal a baby from a new mother using a drugged cupcake. According to a post, which Pierce County Sheriff’s Department shared to their Facebook page, 38-year-old Parker had advertised in a baby group on Facebook, offering free newborn photo sessions in order to build up her portfolio....
