Understandably, I was very excited to hear the news of Fujifilm bringing back NEOPAN 100 ACROS in the form of ACROS II earlier this year. So, when a second announcement came with details of a November 22nd Japanese release date, I started making calls to see if I could buy some. I got lucky and $190 dollars and a week later, I received my shipment; a brick each of 35mm and 120 ACROS II....
This is probably the most practical and one of the least creepy ways I’ve seen deepfake technology being used since it was initially created. While it’s had some very impressive showcases, particularly as an alternative to badly CGI’d versions of actors looking years younger than they are or even bringing them back from the dead, this application is a little less drastic and a little more seamless. In what is being termed “vubbing”, deepfake technology is being used to generate new frames when lines are changed in post or certain things (like profanity) are cut out completely in order to appease the censors (the MPAA, in this case)....
The leading drone manufacturer DJI has been facing difficulties lately. The company has reportedly made significant cuts among its staff. According to several sources, the layoffs will expand to as many as around 14,000 employees. Reuters spoke to some former and current employees at DJI, who shared more information about the layoffs. Reportedly, it all began way back in March, when the company cut two-thirds of the corporate sales and marketing team at its Shenzhen headquarters....
I think for most people, no matter how many comparisons or examples come out, the whole “actual camera vs smartphone camera” debate will never end. Every other new phone seems to be hailed as a “DSLR Killer” by social media. It’s only lately we’ve seen these sorts of claims from manufacturers themselves, though. It was a key selling point of the Huawei P9 and Apple say the iPhone 7 Plus shoots “DSLR quality pictures”....

In fact, according to the specs, it’s pretty much identical. It’s the same size, the same weight, has the same mounting options, same load capacity, same camera travel, same speeds, same power inputs and power consumption, same everything. But it does have some new features, too....
