Yes, that’s right Sony has now officially announced the camera that we all knew was coming; The Sony ZV-E10. Unlike the Sony ZV-1, which was based around the RX100 sensor with a built-in zoom lens, the new ZV-E10 features a larger APS-C sized sensor and instead of a built-in lens, they’re swappable, thanks to the E mount on the front. Sony’s press release suggests that the camera was designed especially for vloggers, and ones that have particularly high demands at that....

Sony has now officially announced its hotly anticipated ultra-wide, large aperture 14mm f/1.8 G Master lens. This compact little lump of plastic, glass and electronics weighs a mere 460g and measures only 83mm x 99.8mm. Sony says it “sets the standard for 14mm primes, by delivering extraordinary corner-to-corner resolution”. They also boast its autofocus capabilities and a compact design “that has never before been realized in this focal length”. Sony does like to be dramatic, huh?...

Filmmaker, gimbal ninja and YouTuber Brandon Li has been playing around with Sony’s new software for the A7S III mirrorless camera and the ZV-1 vlogging camera to see if can actually let us do away with gimbals for shooting video. The cameras have an accelerometer inside them that allows the camera to record the orientation data of the camera while shooting video. Steadicam, the devices famous for stabilising Hollywood’s footage for decades, are refocusing their efforts towards phones. Tiffen, Steadicam’s owners, have just announced the Steadicam Volt. Taking square aim at the influx of motorised handheld gimbals launched recently, the Volt works a little differently. It also offers advantages over those motorised gimbals we’ve come to know. Well, there’s been a few rumours and leaks about this one. Some were right, some were a little off, but now it’s finally official. Today, Olympus has delivered on their teaser promise and announced their new sports & wildlife oriented Olympus OM-D E-M1X camera. From the specs and some first impressions of the camera, the E-M1x looks like it can take a lot of punishment. With a rugged magnesium alloy body and IPX-1 rated weather sealing, it certainly appears to be able to handle some pretty extreme conditions....
