DJI has announced the new DJI Mini 3 drone. You might be feeling a little deja vu, like DJI already announced this, but no. This is a cut-down version of the DJI Mini 3 Pro, released back in May 2022. What makes the new DJI Mini 3 non-Pro different? Well, essentially, it’s the lack of obstacle avoidance. It might seem silly to remove the feature that beginners arguably need the most in a drone specifically targeted towards beginners....

One of the biggest problems with action cameras today is their ability to deal with very low light. Or, to be more accurate, a lack of ability to shoot under very low light conditions. The new Aurora from US-based night vision company SiOnyx is a new action camera that claims to be able to shoot under light levels as low as moonlight. The camera was launched on Kickstarter where it smashed its $50,000 goal in a mere 4 hours....

The winners of 2017 National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year contest have been officially announced. This year, the judges had a task of selecting the winners among more than 11,000 entries from all over the world. The grand prize winner is Jayaprakash Joghee Bojan from Singapore, who captured an orangutan crossing a river in Indonesia’s Tanjung Puting National Park. It seems that Atlanta is the big movie business target for thieves at the moment, with a number of companies banding together to try to combat the problem. Surveillance cameras of a recent breaking at video production services and gear rental company, PC&E in Atlanta where thieves managed to get in, steal over $100,000 worth of equipment and get back out again in less than 10 minutes, with one camera alone reported to be worth around $90,000....

Now, I have to admit, this isn’t a problem I’ve faced myself, but it is a problem I’ve seen a few other people mention, both in person and on social media. The Rode Wireless GO II is pretty much the standard by which others are judged when it comes to tiny wireless microphones. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the best in every aspect, it just means they set the original standard because they’re the second generation of the first type....
