Advertisements When photos of the new GoPro cameras first leaked, we could have seen that there would be three different cameras. And so it is: they range from the GoPro Hero 7 Black, over the GoPro Hero 7 Silver, to the cheapest (and weakest) GoPro Hero White. Here are the specs of all three new GoPro cameras.

The GoPro Hero 7 Black has some additions when compared to its predecessor, such as the vertical portrait mode, scene/smile recognition, live streaming, HDR for photos and looping 15 or 30-second videos. GoPro claims that the stabilization has been improved over the GoPro Hero 6 Black as well and that now the camera offers “gimbal-like stabilization.”

The GoPro Hero 7 Silver has significantly lower performance compared to the Hero 7 Black. However, it does offer a few of the same features, such as portrait orientation and Boomerang-style looping videos.

The GoPro Hero 7 White is the lowest in performance and in the price of these three cameras. In terms of specs, it’s more similar to the budget-friendly GoPro Hero that the company launched earlier this year than to the other two Hero 7 models. It does share some of the features with them too, such as the vertical orientation and the short looping videos. But for the same (or lower) price, perhaps you could buy a used Hero 5. Or hack a GoPro Hero into Hero 5, maybe.

All three cameras are ready for preorders and they will start shipping on 28 September:
